PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new microorganism excellent in reducing selenate compounds, a selenate compound-reducing agent using the microorganism, a method for reducing selenate compounds, a method for removing selenate compounds, and a method for producing metallic selenium.;SOLUTION: Provided is a method for reducing a selenate compound comprising a step of culturing a microorganism belonging to the species of Thauera sp. JPCC Se7-1 (NITE P-1465) and a microorganism belonging to clostridium amylolyticum in the presence of the selenate compound. Also provided are: a method for removing a selenate compound comprising a step of removing the microorganism from the culture after the above reduction method; a method for preparing metallic selenium comprising a step of extracting metallic selenium from the microorganism removed by the above removing method; and a selenate compound-reducing agent containing the microorganism.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
