PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a placement/non-placement detection device of a plate material capable of detecting placement/non-placement of the plate material by using an induction-type proximity sensor, even when the plate material is made of resin.;SOLUTION: A placement detection device comprises an induction-type proximity sensor (8), a support part (7) for supporting the proximity sensor (8) and a leg part (7c) provided to the support part (7) and projecting in the detection direction with respect to a detection surface (8a) of the proximity sensor (8). The leg part (7c) is formed so that the detection surface (8a) and the plate material (W) become substantially parallel with each other when the plate material (W) is made to abut on a tip part (7c2a) and a distance H1 up to the tip part (7c2a) of the leg part (7c) from the detection surface (8a) in the direction of a detection reference axis (8Z) of the proximity sensor (8) becomes H1H2 min to a minimum value H2 min of a detectable distance H2 of the proximity sensor (8).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
