PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide preparation methods of a visible light-responsive photocatalyst and a visible light-responsive photocatalyst intermediate, in which a solvent amount can be optionally set, and a composite fine particle composed of a gold colloid and a titanium oxide fine particle can be prepared at high yield, to provide a usage of the visible light-responsive photocatalyst, and to provide the visible light-responsive photocatalyst.SOLUTION: A preparation method of a visible light-responsive photocatalyst or a visible light-responsive photocatalyst intermediate includes a process in which a disperse system where an oil liquid including an organic titanium complex is employed as a dispersant, and an aqueous dispersion including a gold colloid is employed as a dispersoid is formed, and the visible light-responsive photocatalyst or the visible light-responsive photocatalyst intermediate is composed by that the organic titanium complex is hydrolyzed to clathrates the gold colloid, and forms a clathrate.
