PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection cover device for a lamp by which a lamp can be mounted on a mounting object with a surface of a luminous tube covered by a cover, and the cover can be easily detached from a discharge lamp even when a clearance between the lamp mounted on the mounting object and the mounting object is narrow, and provide a lamp with the cover device, and a method of detaching the protection cover device for a lamp from the lamp.;SOLUTION: A protection cover device 20 can be detached from a lamp 10 including a glass tube part 11 having a luminous tube 12 with a pair of electrodes incorporated. The protection cover device includes a flexible cylindrical cover 21 which covers at least the luminous tube, a string 23 which maintains a mounting state of the cover on the luminous tube by winding around a surface of the cover; and temporary fixing means 25, 29 which are mounted on the string, and maintains a winding state of the string around the cover when tensile force of more than a predetermined value is not applied on the string winding around the cover, and releases the winding state when the tensile force of more than the predetermined value is applied.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
