PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extracting energy from a wave motion in a fluid by means of a wave power aggregate.SOLUTION: The wave power aggregate comprises a container 14 which is situated, at least partially, in a fluid and includes an inflow and an outflow. The container is constructed so that under the influence of wave motion, a first part of the container arranges itself in a first position, and a second part of the container arranges itself in a second position. Consequently, the first position and the second position correspond to different potential energy states. The method comprises the steps of: alternately supplying the container with at least a first fluid 32 and a second fluid 34 respectively via the inflow, where the density of the fluids differs; and controlling a flow resistance in at least one of the first fluid and the second fluid through the container at least during an initial stage of the method. The present invention also relates to a wave power aggregate and a method for using such a wave power aggregate.
