PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information about a traffic jam caused by an artificial factor.;SOLUTION: An information provision system 100 includes an information provision device 110, an information output device 120, and a roadside machine 130. A vehicle information acquisition part 111 of the information provision device 110 acquires information related to a travel state of a prescribed vehicle during traveling and information related to travel situations of other vehicles traveling in front of and in the rear of the prescribed vehicle. A decision part 112 decides whether the prescribed vehicle is at the head of the traffic jam based on the information related to the travel state. When it is decided that the prescribed vehicle is at the head of the traffic jam, a transmission part 113 transmits notification information to the prescribed vehicle. A transmission part 121 of the information output device 120 transmits information related to a travel state of one's own vehicle to the information provision device 110. A reception part 122 receives the notification information for notifying the effect that the own vehicle is the head vehicle of the traffic jam from the information provision device 110.
