PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a microbial fuel battery anode which can keep a high power generation efficiency while the electron production and electron transfer efficiency are increased; a microbial fuel battery; and a method for manufacturing a microbial fuel battery anode.SOLUTION: The microbial fuel battery anode 40 of the invention comprises: a water-retaining polymer gel 44 including electrically produced microorganism 46 for producing electrons by decomposition of an organic material 12, and fixed to an electrode base of the anode 40. The molecular weight of a fixing material used for the water-retaining polymer gel 44 may be 1000-12000, and preferably 1000-6000. The addition density of the fixing material used for the water-retaining polymer gel 44 is 5-20%, and preferably 8-15%.
