The invention provides an image enhancement method and an image enhancement device, wherein the image enhancement method comprises the following steps: calculating perfect diffusion brightness of each pixel in an image; classifying each pixel into a high-brightness pixel or a non-high-brightness pixel according to the calculated perfect diffusion brightness of each pixel; and enhancing the saturation degree of each non-high-brightness pixel according to the perfect diffusion brightness of each non-high-brightness pixel. By adopting the technical scheme, the visibility and/or the readability of images such as whiteboard images can be effectively improved.
