PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for reproducing 3D video on a portable terminal.SOLUTION: There is provided a system for generating and reproducing a 3D video file on the basis of 2D video media standards, the system including a 3D video file generation device which generates a 3D video file including a data region having first video data and second video data synchronized with the first video data, a header region including information on the first video data, and a metadata region including information on the second video data, the 3D video file being used to generate 3D video; and a 3D video file reproduction device which analyzes the information on the first video data and the information on the second video data when the 3D video file is input so as to put the first video data and second video data into the 3D video file and to reproduce the 3D video file.
