PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a sensor into a device without complicating an arrangement constitution of the inside of the device and without enlarging a box of the device.;SOLUTION: A carrying passage 31 is formed of a first carrying passage 32 which is bent and extends to the upper part from the rear part of a paper feed cassette 14, a second carrying passage 33 which extends to the side of a recording part 20 from the terminal end of the first carrying passage 32, and a reverse carrying passage 34 which extends to a connecting port 34A of the first carrying passage 33 from a connecting port 34B of the second carrying passage 33. A space 49 surrounded by the three passages is wider in a region 49A at the side of the first carrying passage 32 than the side of the connecting port 34B with respect to the vertical direction 7.
