P To provide a method for estimating a coke oven gas yield in a higher accuracy than a conventional one and a method for producing coke and which reduces difference between a target coke oven gas yield and results. PSOLUTION: The method for estimating a coke oven gas yield includes calculating an estimated coke oven gas calorific value Ccog (kcal/kg coal) based ON a coal volatile content amount VM (mass%, DRY), a carbon content C (mass%, DRY), a fixed carbon amount FC (mass%, DRY), an oxygen content O (mass%, DRY) and a sulfur content (mass%, DRY) and a hydrogen content H (mass%, DRY) and estimating a coke oven gas yield Y (N mSP3/SP/t coal) converted into 4,800 kcal/NmSP3/SPbased ON the calculated coke oven gas calorific value Ccog.
