PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction due to rainfall by surely determining whether the change occurring in an electric field waveform data means a peak caused by lightning strike or not, relating to a system for evaluating lightning strike charge amount. PSOLUTION: A lightning strike charge evaluating system 1 calculates lightning strike charge at the occurrence of lightning strike. The system includes a data-acquiring section 20, which acquires electric field waveform data and magnetic field waveform data representing secular change in electric field and magnetic field at a point to be measured; a lightning strike determination section 21 which monitors peak in the electric field waveform data or magnetic field waveform data; and when a peak is observed, a correlation factor between the electric field waveform data and magnetic field waveform data of the predetermined length containing peak is calculated; and if the absolute value of the correlation factor calculated is larger than a predetermined reference correlation factor, it is decided that the peak is caused by a lightning strike, and a means for calculating a lightning strike charge, based on the electric field waveform data and the magnetic field waveform data, if the lightning strike determination section 21 determines that the peak is caused by a lightning strike.
