METHOD FOR PREVENTING BRONCHOPULMONARY DYSPLASIA IN NEWBORNS WITH EXTREMELY LOW BODY MASS AT BIRTH

A method for preventing bronchopulmonary dysplasia in the newborns with extremely low body mass at birth provides for endotracheal instillation of the natural lung surfactant to both bronchi via intubation tube followed by extubation and non-invasive lung ventilation at permanent positive pressure through the nasal cannulae. The surfactant is instilled prior to the first breathing-in at a dose of 100-200 mg/kg of body mass in bolus mode followed by mechanical lung ventilation with Ambu bag at the inspiratory pressure of 15- of water for 3-4 minutes. Depending on the severity of the condition, the surfactant is administered 1-3 times.
