METHOD FOR DELINEATING PATIENTS AT HIGH RISK OF LIFE-THREATENING VENTRICULAR ARRHYTHMIA AND SUDDEN CARDIAC DEATH IN EARLY POSTOPERATIVE PERIOD AMONG PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE BEING OPERATED WITH EPIDURAL ANESTHESIA

A method for delineating the patients at high risk of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmia and sudden cardiac death in early postoperative period among the patients with ischemic heart disease being operated with epidural anesthesia comprises the monitoring of electrocardiogram with the assessment of the spectral parameters of heart rhythm variability. In the patients operated for inguinal hernia with epidural anesthesia, 24-hours monitoring of electrocardiogram should be performed perioperatively. The parameters of sympathetico-vagal index are assessed. When LF/HF is not less than 2.97, the high risk of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmia and sudden cardiac death in early postoperative period is suggested.
