METHOD OF CREATING AND MAINTAINING LIST OF WLAN AUTOMATIC NEIGHBORS

The invention provides a method, in a WLAN integrated cellular network, of creating and maintaining a list of WLAN network automatic neighbors. The method includes the steps of: b. sending a first message to a user equipment, the first message instructing the user equipment to measure a signal strength of a WLAN network; c. receiving a second message from the user equipment, the second message including a service set identifier of the WLAN network; d. requesting configuration information corresponding to the service set identifier of the WLAN network from an OAM according to the received service set identifier of the WLAN network; e. receiving the configuration information corresponding to the service set identifier of the WLAN network from the OAM; and f. creating a first list of WLAN network automatic neighbors, the first list of WLAN network automatic neighbors including the service set identifier of the WLAN network and the configuration information corresponding to the service set identifier of the WLAN network. The invention has a list of automatic neighbors created and maintained for the WLAN integrated cellular network without considerable manual configuration, and the invention further has WLAN information exchanged between base stations to facilitate an effort of network load balance and interference management through the cellular network.
