A calculation device for solving simultaneous linear equations implements a method for solving simultaneous linear equations using a Krylov subspace iteration method, and is provided with a plurality of computing units (21-24, 61-76, 110, 120, 130, 140, 211, 221, 231 and 241). In the calculation device, a vector sequence (xk) (k is a natural number including zero) that approaches the solution of the simultaneous linear equations asymptotically is composed of a plurality of components corresponding to the degree thereof; in iterative calculations that cause the vector sequence (xk) to approach the solution asymptotically, the vector sequence (xk) is divided into a plurality of regions different from each other and corresponding to the plurality of components; and when the plurality of computing units are caused to execute in parallel computation processing corresponding to each of the plurality of regions different from each other the preconditioned matrix used in the iterative calculations is a diagonal matrix.
