System and method configured to provide a user of a user computing device with information enabling the user to purchase a desired product or service. In one aspect, a method is provided for enabling a plurality of vendor computing devices to provision appropriate purchase information to the user, the method comprising: identifying at the user computing device a desired product or service; designating a specified time window during which the plurality of vendor computing devices may provide the user computing device with purchase information regarding the desired product or service; notifying the plurality of vendor computing devices of the identity of the desired product or service; providing the plurality of vendor computing devices with real-time information regarding at least one current characteristic of the user computing device and/or a user of the user computing device;receiving during the specified time window, purchase information related to the desired product or service from at least one of the plurality of vendor computing devices, the purchase information being determined using the real-time information so as to arrive at purchase information appropriate to the current characteristic of the user computing device and/or the user of the user computing device. The embodiments of the invention may be implemented as part of a bidding process between a computing device and a plurality of vendors to purchase a desired product.
