A liquid crystal composition comprises 70-98 wt% of liquid crystal molecules and 2-30 wt% of a hydrogel agent. The hydrogel agent can contain an alkylamide compound. The liquid crystal composition can form a gel network forming multiple domains which are randomly arranged within a liquid crystal layer.
