The present invention relates to a method of a base station for providing a multicast service in a device-to-device (D2D) wireless communications system supporting a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) scheme. The method for providing a multicast service includes a process of multicasting the number of automatic retransmission, which is to be used by mobile terminals included in a multicast service group, and a multicast service data packet. The number of automatic retransmission means the number of times that the base station automatically retransmits the multicast service data packet when the mobile terminals included in the multicast service group successfully receive the multicast service data packet.
