PURPOSE: A cross-linking poly(arylene ether ketone) having a backbone sulfonate group is provided to directly control the degree of sulfonation and to have high proton conductivity, mechanical strength, and electrochemical stability to be applied to a polymer electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell. CONSTITUTION: A cross-linking poly(arylene ether ketone) having a backbone sulfonate group and a branch carboxyl group. In chemical formula 1, m and n are 0m1 and 0n1 respectively. A manufacturing method of the poly(arylene ether ketone) includes a step of forming an activated 4,4-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-valeric acid monomer by dissolving 4,4-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-valeric acid and an alkali metal carbonate in an organic solvent; and a step of mixing the activated 4,4-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-valeric acid monomer, 4,4-difluorobenzophenone, and 5,5-carbonylbis(2-fluorobenzene-sulfonate) in an organic solvent.
