The method involves detecting storage mediums i.e. smart cards (6a-6c), associated with a passenger in a vehicle (1) i.e. public transport, by using a detecting system (2) located in the vehicle. A location and a timestamp are created and stored. A service fee is detected and/or collected by a vehicle-side, passenger-side or central authority. The service fee is billed by temporarily comparing an acceleration profile of a vehicle with an acceleration profile of the detected storage mediums of the passenger. An independent claim is also included for a device for acquiring and billing of service fees for journey of a passenger in a public transport from a starting location to a destination.
