Electromechanical vehicle steering system has ball-type linear drive, where steering assistance force is generated by electric motor such that motor torque generated by electric motor is adapted dynamically to determined offset force
The electromechanical vehicle steering system has an electric motor (2) for generating steering assistance force and a ball-type linear drive (3) for transmitting the steering assistance force. An offset force is overcome in ball-type linear drive for driving the ball-type linear drive. The offset force is currently determined and the steering assistance force is generated by the electric motor, such that a motor torque generated by the electric motor is adapted dynamically to the determined offset force. The currently determined offset force is stored in a storage unit (4) of the vehicle steering system. An independent claim is included for a method for operating an electromechanical vehicle steering system.
