The extractor hood system (1) has an extractor hood unit (2) comprising a filter system (3) with a haze filter (4) for filtering of cooking haze. A suction system is arranged behind the haze filter and comprises a suction device. The extractor hood system also comprises a positioning device (7) on which the extractor hood unit is arranged non- destructively in separable or inseparable manner. The positioning device causes a positioning of the extractor hood unit with an orientation of the extractor hood unit in an angle, particularly equal to 90 degrees to a horizontal, so that the cooking haze is sucked by the suction system and is filtered by the filter system. An independent claim is included for a method for environmental friendly cooking of food at any location.
