Use of an active ingredient consisting of tocotrienols in the substantial absence of tocopherols, derivatives of tocotrienols in the substantial absence of tocopherols, tocotrienols enriched with vitamin E preparations, derivatives of tocotrienols enriched with vitamin E preparations, and/or tocotrienol-rich fractions of natural products, for the prevention or treatment of normal or pathological inflammatory diseases, pain, diseases of nervous system, heart/circulatory disease, cancer, swelling, itching or slowing of age-related changes, is claimed.
