摘要

The device (10) has profile sensing units (20, 22) for detecting tire profile parameters of first tire and second tire respectively. An evaluation unit (30) i.e. microcontroller, evaluates the parameters detected by the sensing units. An evaluation comparing unit (32) compares the profile parameters of the first tire or group of tires with the parameters of the second tire or any derivative values for detection of incorrect assembly with respect to running direction of the tire, deviations in symmetry of the tire tread, width of the tires, and visible asymmetric wear patterns of the tires. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for detecting tire profile parameters of two tires mounted at opposite ends of a common axis of a vehicle (2) a system for detecting tire profile parameters of a vehicle.
