The device has inner segments (6) and outer segments (7) hinged at an upper structure (1) in a region of a boom hinge axis. The segments are supported against a boom base piece (3) by adjusting cylinders (5'). The cylinders are hinged at the outer segments. The segments are pivotable from a mounting position into an operating position and from the operating position back into the mounting position by the cylinders. The segments are aligned in an angle to a rocker plane so that an outer end of the outer segments is provided in a large distance to the plane than inner segments. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a boom unclamping device without a foreign crane.
