The device has a foot plate (11) fastened to ground, and a post (10) projecting from the plate. An eyelet is arranged in an upper end area of the post for mounting a rope through which a person is protected against crash. A connection between the post and the plate is designed as a reference breaking connection. A metal rope connection comprising a stainless steel rope is arranged in an inner side of the post and provided for tight connection of the eyelet in an anchorage area of the device. The post is made from plastic and closed by a cover (13), covering flap or covering plate.
