The torsional vibration damper (1) has a housing (2) and two annular secondary masses (7,8) arranged in the housing, which extend around a rotary axis of a torsional vibration damper in a chamber of the housing. The two secondary masses are designed, such that one secondary mass extends radially outside the another secondary mass and is separated from the latter secondary mass in an area by an axial gap (9). The radially extending gaps (12,13) between the housing and the former secondary mass have another gap width compared to the gaps (10,11) between the housing and the latter secondary mass.
