The heating system (36) has an exhaust unit for discharging flue gas into a combustion chamber (18). A primary heat exchanger (28) is arranged in the exhaust unit and is thermally coupled to a heating-water circuit. A secondary heat exchanger (40) is provided for thermal coupling of the flue gas with operation fluid in thermodynamic cycle (38) such as organic Rankine cycle. The secondary heat exchanger is arranged in the flow direction of the flue gas before the primary heat exchanger. An independent claim is included for a retrofit kit for heating system.
