Method for designing material-deforming tool i.e. cooled tool, for manufacturing automotive industry part during warm shaping process, involves providing tool geometry of material-deforming tool in sections to simulated heat transfer
The method involves stimulating transfer of heat of a workpiece on a material-deforming tool (10) by finite element method (FEM). A tool geometry (12) of the material-deforming tool is provided in sections to the simulated heat transfer. The contact pressure between the workpiece and the material-deforming tool is simulated in sections by the FEM for the simulation of the heat transfer. Default values i.e. local default values, of the simulated transfer of heat are compared with each other, where the simulation and the adaptation process are automatically performed. An independent claim is also included for a computer program product comprising a set of instructions for designing a material-deforming tool.
