The wheel (1) has an opening (2) for retaining a shaft, and teeth (3) formed at a peripheral surface of the wheel using a rolling method. The wheel is designed as a thin-walled circular blank (4), where a wall thickness of the circular blank is lesser than a width of a carrier body (6) that forms the teeth. The carrier body is arranged at the peripheral surface of the wheel. The peripheral surface of the wheel is thickened by the rolling process. The wall thickness of the circular blank corresponds to a maximum load request. The teeth are brought into the carrier body. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a drive wheel.
