The cooling device (1) has a fan (2), an air inlet (3) and an air outlet (4). A direction reversing unit e.g. mechanical actuator is arranged for reversing the rotation direction of fan such that flow direction of the cooling air (10) over ventilation space (5) at air outlet is reversed. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) power converter; and (2) method for eliminating contamination of cooling system.
