The device (1) has a heat guide plate (2) heat conductively connectable with an outer surface of an energy storage unit over a contact surface (3) of the heat guide plate. A pipe (4) conducts a fluid medium and is heat conductively with the heat guide plate. The heat guide plate comprises an edge area (5) outside the contact surface. The pipe comprises a pipe section (6) that exhibits a gradient along the edge area and rests on the edge area in the gradient along the edge area. The edge area comprises a width that is smaller than a triple maximum outer diameter of the pipe section. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a battery module (2) a method for manufacturing a control device for controlling a temperature of an energy storage unit.
