The MOPA laser arrangement comprises a seed laser (6) and an optical performance amplifier (10). The optical performance amplifier is used for reinforcement of seed laser radiation (7) of the seed laser. A single pump light source (1) is provided such that the seed laser and optical performance amplifier are supplied with a pumping light radiation in normal operation of the MOPA laser configuration. An independent claim is included for method for optical power amplification of laser light radiation.
