The lathe has a working area (A) arranged above a lower frame (1) and partially surrounded by a rear wall (2) and side walls (3, 4), where the side walls extend from the rear wall. The rear wall has a window such that the working area is visible through the window. A rear wall element (6) is attached to a frame (5) in a detachable manner. A window pane (15) of the window is made from transparent polymer i.e. polycarbonate. The window pane is held in a window frame in a clamping manner, where the window frame comprises a holding frame and a clamping frame.
