The high pressure pump has a housing (1) including a hollow-cylindrical projection (2) in which a suction valve (3) for supplying fuel to a pump working space is arranged. A hydraulic annular space (5) is formed between the hollow-cylindrical projection and an annular portion (6) of low-pressure connection module (7). The annular portion is formed with a radial or sloping bore for connection of hydraulic annular space with a low-pressure port (9). An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing high pressure pump.
