The case consists of a cover element (20) that is formed of a flexible sheet-form element and is movably attached between a closed position and an open position relative to a chassis of an open passenger car (10), for covering a top compartment (13). A guide (22) is provided on both sides of the top compartment, along which the cover element is slidable between the closed position and the open position. The cover element is partially provided with a bolster (36) on the underside (32).
