The brake disk (10) has a friction ring (11) for frictional engagement of the brake disk with a brake pad, while a support cup is arranged coaxially with the friction ring for supporting the brake disk on a hub. The teeth (12) are formed on the friction ring and the counter teeth are formed on the support cup for the form-locking connection of the friction ring with the support cup. A groove (13) molded in the friction ring for insulating the heat of the brake disk. The friction ring is made from cast iron, particularly from a gray cast iron, where the groove is formed in the friction ring.
