The superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID)-based sensor assembly has a SQUID arrangement having feedback electronic (3). A relatively insensitive reference-SQUID (4) with associated feedback coil (5) and a sensitive measuring-SQUID (1) with associated feedback coil (2) are arranged such that SQUIDs are subjected to similar measuring of a magnetic field. The area (A-ref) of the SQUID forming the reference is measured so small that its output characteristic according to its associated servo loop differentiates the difference of two adjacent operating line of sensitive magnetometer.
