The thermal insulation or sound insulation is performed using an insulating plate (2), which is mounted on a window or a balcony door in the lower portion of the openings (3) on the outer side. The minimum height of the insulating plates overlap the lower edge of the window, particularly a door frame (1), so that the insulating plates substantially attenuate the heat losses through the air flow along the window or the door, or even in the leakage windows or doors. An independent claim is included for a frame for solidification of insulating plates.
