The component (1) comprises two cover layers (11, 12) connected via a set of connecting portions (13) in a force-conducting manner, where one of the cover layers has indentations facing opposite to the other cover layer. The indentations have higher density along a predetermined load path of the component. A core part is placed between the cover layers, where thickness of the core part is a distance between the cover layers. A bead filler layer is formed between the core part and one of the cover layers. The component (1) comprises two cover layers (11, 12) connected via a set of connecting portions (13) in a force-conducting manner, where one of the cover layers has indentations facing opposite to the other cover layer. The indentations have higher density along a predetermined load path of the component. A core part is placed between the cover layers, where thickness of the core part is a distance between the cover layers. A bead filler layer (3) is formed between the core part and one of the cover layers. The indentations of one cover layer extend up to the other cover layer, and/or to the bead filler layer, and/or to the core part. The connecting portions are materially connected in one of the cover layers, the core part and/or the bead filler layer. The core part is an elongate reinforcing strip (2) having greater elastic yield strength than the cover layers. The strip extends in an indentation-free region of the component along the predetermined load path and/or along another predetermined load path. The core part is a full-face core which is arranged over the entire surface between the cover layers. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a sandwich component.
