The system (10) has a gaming device (12) including a control unit (16) and movable, real game articles e.g. model railway locomotives (34, 36), where operating instructions of a user for moving the articles are detected and transferred to the control unit. A data processing unit (80) e.g. server, is spatially separate from the gaming device. The processing unit is formed and programmed such that game influence data is provided by the processing unit. The data is transferred to the control unit and interpreted by the control unit, and influence a movement of the articles.
