Method for computed tomography-based approximate determination of diameter of blood vessel of aorta of e.g. person, involves determining diameter of blood vessel as product of another diameter of blood vessel and correction factor
The method involves determining a diameter, which is falsified by blooming, of a blood vessel (1). A hounsfield-value (C1), which is caused by a contrast agent (4) and falsified by blooming, of the blood vessel is determined. Another hounsfield-value (C2), which is caused by the contrast agent and unfalsified by blooming, of another blood vessel (2) is determined. A correction factor is determined from the hounsfield-values and the diameter. Another diameter (s) of the former blood vessel is determined as a product of the former diameter and the correction factor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an estimation unit (2) a computed tomography system (3) a digital storage medium comprising instructions for performing a method for computed tomography-based approximate determination of a diameter of a blood vessel of a person and an animal (4) a computer program comprising instructions for performing a method for computed tomography-based approximate determination of a diameter of a blood vessel of a person and an animal.
