The unit (1) has a signal converter (2) receiving discrete control signals, evaluating influence of behavior of the unit and determining a transmission time dot of a signal to be transformed, where the unit is connected over lead lines (5) for receiving the discrete control signals. The unit emits a signal over the signal converter into a surrounding field of the unit. A data memory (4) selects a waveform to produce an appropriate signal by a signal generator (3) with certain time delay, where an amplification factor of a receive amplifier (8) is received in response to the lead lines. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for use in ultrasound-based environment sensor system (2) a method for utilizing an environment sensor system.
