Method for determining pore size and pore distribution in metal casting, involves grouping measured pores size and spaces in cluster for generating measuring value for pores size or pores distribution in sample on cluster-to-cluster basis
The method involves receiving an image, which corresponds to an area of interest in a sample of a metal casting portion, where a volume-percentage of a pore size for multiple pores is measured in the image. The reference framework-coordinates are spatially defined, which correspond to a relative position of each of multiple pores in the image to calculate the pore spaces. The measured pores size and pores spaces are grouped in a cluster, such that a measuring value is generated for the pores size or the pores distribution in the sample on a cluster-to-cluster basis. An independent claim is included for a system for estimating pore size and pore distribution in a metal casting.
