The tensioner (10) has a circular arc curved feed pipe (30) which is guided by the same circle center point (K) of a circular arc curved drive rod. A drive unit is provided for driving the drive shaft and moving the drive rod within the feed pipe after triggering of the tensioner. A drive gear (50) directly or indirectly connected with a belt reel of the belt retractor is driven by the drive shaft in case of movement of the drive rod and is set in a rotary motion. The feed pipe is pivotally mounted about a pivot point (P). An independent claim is included for belt retractor for safety belt.
