The method involves coding a digital document by a terminal (1) using a symmetrical key calculated by the terminal. The symmetrical key is coded by the terminal using a public key that is asymmetrically associated with another terminal (2). A quantified document and quantified symmetrical key are transferred to the latter terminal. The symmetrical key is deciphered by the latter terminal using a private asymmetrical key associated with the latter terminal. The document is deciphered using the deciphered symmetrical key. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a secure document transfer system (2) a computer program producing comprising instructions for performing a method for transfer of documents.
