The system (10) has a satellite (12) describing an elliptic helio-synchronous retrograde orbit (16) around the Earth. The orbit is included in an orbital plan (Po) of angle of inclination (i) ranging between 114 degrees and 118 degrees. The orbit presents an equatorial radius (dga) of length ranging between 10185 Km and 10623 Km. A set of ground stations (14) detects movement of the satellite and communicates with the satellite. The orbit of the satellite presents a perigee point (omega) ranging between 305 and 338 degrees or between 202 and 235 degrees. An independent claim is also included for a method for stationing and maintenance of a space system in a satellite orbit.
