The launcher (1) has a main body (10) provided with a tank (32) for a propellant (A) i.e. liquid hydrogen, and an auxiliary booster (20) separable from the main body and provided with a tank (23) for another propellant (B) i.e. liquid oxygen. The latter propellant tank of the auxiliary booster is connected to an auxiliary rocket engine (21) to supply the latter propellant to the auxiliary rocket engine. The former propellant tank of the main body supplies the former propellant to the auxiliary rocket engine. A control junction (25) connects the main body to the auxiliary booster.
