The device (1) has a scanning module (2) for scanning a physical dental impression, and a processing module (3) for generating a digital model of a dental prosthesis to be manufactured from the scanned physical dental impression. A program module (4) is intended to generate manufacturing instructions from the digital model of the dental prosthesis to be manufactured, and a manufacturing module (5) is intended to make the dental prosthesis from the generated manufacturing instructions, where the modules are arranged to communicate with each other wirelessly. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a dental prosthesis.
